Career-Building Elements

With the new offer, we aim to establish a modular development and networking program for female students at technical Universities of Applied Sciences (HaW). To this end, the cooperation project with the HochschulAllianz HAWtech was launched in March 2021. First, needs and requirements of all stakeholders are analyzed. These results will be used to subsequently design a creative program. The piloting of the first courses is planned for the calendar year 2022.

Synergies for all stakeholders

Together, we are pursuing four central goals here:

  • We intend to establish a modular offer for female students to improve networking and visibility as well as possible concrete career options on the other hand.
  • The participating partner companies will be given the opportunity through an attractive program to address talent at all participating universities in a more targeted and bundled manner, and to enable entry options. Medium-sized and locally operating organizations are to be addressed in particular.
  • Participating technical-focused universities increase their reputation for female students on the one hand and strengthen their cooperations with the business community – or enter into new ones.
  • Making diverse team structures, equal development opportunities and role models visible are topics that should radiate into society – and enable better equal opportunities.

“One of the guiding principles of the Alliance for Universities of Applied Sciences is to secure the next generation of highly qualified female engineers and scientists. To achieve this, it is not only crucial to attract talented young women and provide them with first-class professional qualifications, but also to highlight attractive career opportunities and build a strong professional network. Femtec ties in with these aspects and enables young STEM talent to network with experienced professionals from the field, creating role models that are urgently needed to fully develop the potential of female students and shape career options.”
