1. When and why did you decide to partner with Femtec?
BP Europa SE has been a partner of the Femtec Network since July 2006. Our goals, which we are pursuing with the partnership, have not altered since that time . We are convinced that the formats of the Femtec Career-Building Programme offer significant support and career opportunities, especially to young women who are interested in science and technology. Our company attaches great importance to equality, diversity and inclusion. We are consciously looking for female junior staff and managers – that is why the partnership with Femtec is very valuable to us.
2. What is special about Femtec graduates and scholarship holders?
We particularly appreciate the scholarship holders’ motivation and enthusiasm to want to make the world a better place in the long term and to make a personal contribution. This is exactly what we stand for at BP: we want to keep the world moving and reduce emissions at the same time.
3. What does the Femtec Network mean for your organisation?
The core of an organisation is its employees. Only through highly trained, motivated, self-confident and courageous employees can an organisation develop further and be sustainably successful. The world will continue to need energy more than ever before. And we want to provide this energy while drastically reducing emissions. For this so-called “double challenge” we need smart minds. This is precisely what we want to win over to our company through the Femtec Network.
4. What are your messages to the scholarship holders?
Inform yourself thoroughly and comprehensively before you make a decision. Do not rely on prejudices or assumptions.
Stick to your ideals and pursue your goal step by step.
Stay authentic and don’t let success dazzle or change you.
Don’t be afraid to make decisions – only those who make mistakes can learn from them.
5. How do you perceive the Femtec Network?
We view the Femtec Network as a large community and we are very proud to be a part of it. Whether in talks, excursions, innovation workshops, or alumni events – we are always very happy to be a partner and to be appreciated.
“We particularly value the scholarship holders’ motivation and enthusiasm to make a lasting difference to the world and to make a personal contribution.”
