The Femtec Career-Building Programme is an outstanding instrument to prepare female students to launch their career and to successfully master it after graduation. In the Federal Republic of Germany, specialists with managerial skills are particularly rare in the technical sectors and are highly sought after. In order for women to be able to fill more management positions in technical and scientific sectors in the foreseeable future, universities must provide support and guidance for female students beyond their studies and into their careers; in close cooperation with industry as the future employer of young female engineers and scientists.
