“For the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the promotion of girls and women is a key to ensuring quality in research, teaching and innovation. Especially in the natural and engineering sciences, women are still underrepresented – both in studies and in science. If we want to tap the great potential of women in this field, we must offer individual support, argue against an outdated understanding of roles and, above all, give an example of how things can get better. The Femtec initiative is our answer to this challenge.”
